On my many journeys out to meet the people, they tend to ask me, So what’s this all about? What do you believe in? What are your policies on energy, education, defense? How are you going to right the economy? And I’m like, I don’t have to tell you people anything…not yet, and maybe not ever, even if you do elect me. That’s the way the game works, right?
In the coming weeks, I will continue to huddle with my advisers, none of whom knows anything about the topics breached in the streets and across the heartland of this great nation. They are true pros, well above the fray of policy-making. They’re really just in it for the sport.
Yes, we will find the answers. Maybe not the answers to those specific queries (which have come to sound like a broken record, er, MP3), but something all together better: the Truth.
As we push forward, we will be issuing fragments of the manifesto: What this is all about. For now, I leave you with this:
Just be Decent. (And then the requisite 2012, to time-stamp the thing so you don’t think this is 1972 or 1980 or even last month all over again.)
Just be Decent 2012.
